Finding The Best Properties In Florida

Buyers can still find great deals on properties in Florida even if living in a bigger city is necessary. However, finding the best properties for sale in Florida's big cities might take a little extra investigating. The bigger cities are generally the first ones bouncing back after 2008's housing bubble burst.

Jacksonville: Jacksonville is a huge metropolitan area. It is the only city in Duval County. Popular neighborhoods (with high-priced homes) include Mandarin and Riverside. Bryceville and Atlantic Beach are good choices for potential property buyers looking for lower-priced property.

Orlando: Metro Orlando spans nearly 50 miles end-to-end with a lot of neighborhoods to choose from. Metro West, Winter Park and College Park are home to some of the pricier properties for sale. Downtown Orlando saw a big influx in the number of condos built during the building boom and there are some deals still to be had in buildings like 55 West. Bedroom communities like Maitland, Apopka and Lake Mary are recovering more slowly from the construction bubble burst and may be the best source for a good price on properties for sale.

Tampa: Tampa and St. Petersburg are congested and crowded due to a high population and awkward geography along Tampa Bay. Roads are not getting any less congested because there is no where to build. However, the expansion of commuters into Pasco County mean lower home prices to the north than there are within the county limits of Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties.

Miami: Property prices in Miami tanked because of the building boom. It is one of the worst metro areas in the country for condo property values because of all the buildings built pre-2008. While statistically that is bad for Miami construction investors, owners are still asking a lot of money for homes and condos in Miami. There may still be a long ways for property values to fall in Miami before they are in line with the rest of the country. Foreclosures and short sales might be the best deals you can find, but hold on tight. Miami is not a city where buyers should expect to earn any equity for years down the line.

For buyers looking for the best properties for sale in Florida's mid-sized cities, the internet is a great resource. However, just driving around desired neighborhoods might be the best way to find a good deal. Of course, consult a real estate agent and have them send you properties in your price range with all the amenities you require.
